Mid Century Master Bedroom: One Year Later

This post is sponsored.

It has almost been one year since we gave our master bedroom a huge makeover for the One Room Challenge and I think it’s time for an update. You can check out the before images of the space here.

With so many ongoing projects, our goal was to create a mid-century inspired bedroom that we could retreat to each night and forget about the unfinished spaces around our home. This is something we were able to accomplish with small but meaningful changes from paint to updating our bed and decor.

Since last year we have replaced our bedding with a cozy all white set from Parachute Home, and added a few accents from The Company Store. The original bedding was a little too gray with the newly painted gray walls and the gray upholstered bed.

While the updated bedding instantly brightened the room, the biggest update to the space in this time has been the addition of the beautiful Lenia 6-drawer dresser from Article. With its sleek lines, walnut wood tones and beautiful tapered legs, this truly is the mid-century dresser of our dreams.

Being an older home with smaller rooms, our closet is proportionately small as well. Storage is so important to us and with a limiting closet, most of our belongings are folded in drawers. It was important to find a dresser that fit not only our desired design style but had ample storage space. My favorite feature of the new dresser has got to be the undermounted soft close drawers. Our old dresser drawers were stiff and difficult to close making it quite noisy in the early hours that my husband would get ready for work. Noisy drawers no more! The Lenia dresser drawers glide with ease and are whisper quiet.

We have been so happy with the quality and design of the piece and look forward to years of use.
