One Room Challenge Week 3: Houston We Have Drywall

It is week three of the Spring 2019 One Room Challenge and I can’t believe we are already halfway through! The project got a whole lot more ambitious in week 2 with a complete demo of the old half bath down to the studs and I was left several steps behind where I had hoped to be. Now that demo has been completed I am excited to be piecing the room back together.

After a weekend of re-routing electrical, the week was all about the drywall. A Monday morning delivery and inconvenient weather forecast for the week has put some added stress on an already somewhat difficult task. With nowhere to store the 11 sheets of drywall it has sat in my driveway where I have had to work around heavy winds and a week full of rain. On top of the weather, there are so many surface and corners to work around in the tight half bath space and I have had quite the time managing it by myself as a newbie.

I am happy to say that while still behind in my endeavors I haven’t given up and have completed about half of the drywall. Yay! The remaining drywall will have to wait for this upcoming Easter weekend when I have a little more time and assistance. I hope to get at least 1 to 2 coats of mud on the space as well and push through to painting by next week.

It will truly be a race to the finish with this one and I can’t wait to see what the next three weeks have in store.
